Omerók Vúshvel-Åm Enôrul Emendurad Kor is a duergar druid and member of Croak and Dagger.

Omerók is an old dwarf, over 300 years old. He stands at 4 ft 4 in (132 cm). He's got a wide, stout dwarven build and has a fat but still a bit muscular physique. His skin is a dark brownish gray and his eyes are a lighter gray color. Like most duergar he has bright white hair though with age the brightness has dulled slightly. He is bald at the top of his head and what's left around his head is thinning, except for his long, bushy beard. He gives of a faint smell of cut vegetation.

His usual outfit is quite eclectic. He wears the Armor of the Archdruid. This includes a bear pelt worn as a cloak, the head of which is worn on Omerók's shoulder (or occasionally on his head). The armor itself is made of high tensile strength ceramic plates that overlap like scales encased in a blue, lightweight fiber. This connects with gold links and plates to red and gold robes reminiscent of those worn by the priests of Belkor. The armor includes golden gauntlets of otherworldly design. This armor is worn over a tie-dye t-shirt with "World's Best Uncle" written on it and the same old bat-leather boots he has for many years. He is also wearing the Vibe Check Shades, a pair of dark sunglasses with "COOL" and "DUDE" written across the lenses. On his wrist is a beaded bracelet. He weilds the Staff of Frost, a staff made of a solid piece of magical ice, which has affixed to the top of it with ice a glass sphere of water with a mechanical fish perpetually swimming inside.

The friendship bracelet given to Omerók by Aiden Thorin was made of small twigs of bamboo tied in knots, with light green and brown beads. The larger center bead is silver and it depects a goat with a sunrise over a farm in the background. This image changes into whatever creature Omerók wild shapes into.

Personality

Omerók is a friendly goofball old man who usually gets the party to try the peaceful route. He avoids killing wherever possible and advocates for others to do the same. A lot of this comes from him wanting to offer others a second chance like he had and the opportunity to decide their own legacy. Omerók has been through and seen a lot, though he doesn't let any of this show outwardly as he has become someone others look up to and depend on and he remains positive for them. In his older age sometimes gets overdramatic in his speech. Omerók always tries to talk to whoever they are dealing with as a person above all else, trying to understand their motives and to help them.

Biography

Backstory

Omerók was born in 1430 in the in the underdark city of Belkor. He lived most of his life here and was trained as a smith and engineer. He progressed through the ranks to become the Master Smith of Belkor, working with Zirildeler and others on the Bëmbulikor—the giant mechanical golem designed to be Belkor's ultimate weapon in conquest of the surface. Some of Omerók's work was on the golem's axe and shield, Nazushzan and Duthnurzan. Omerók regrets ever having worked on the project and one night while (after sending Hjulman away) he was alone decided to sabotage the Bëmbulikor and escape to the surface.

Once on the surface, Omerók spent a while wandering before he found a love of farming and settled down. He came into ownership of a small ranch and raised generation after generation of goats for a hundred years or so. Along the way, he made friends and trained in being a Druid, taught by the Firbolg. When he heard about a way to Craig Firebrand wanting to form an adventuring party, he joined to help out however he could.

Abilities

  • Wild Shape – As a Moon Druid, Omerók can shapechange into many types of beasts and a few types of elementals. His go-to wild shape is a giant crocodile. With his Armor of the Archdruid, he can wild shape four times per day, and can use two of these uses to turn into an elemental.
  • Spellcasting – Omerók is well-practiced in druidic spellcasting and can cast some powerful spells. Some of his more notable spells include Animal Shapes, Geas, Healing Word, Heat Metal, Investiture of Wind, Reincarnate, and Transport via Plants.
  • Animal Handling Expert – Omerók is extremely good with animals (he has a +21 to the Animal Handling skill). It rarely comes up but when it does, oh man. Just you wait.
  • Bonafide Not-Real-Detective Detective – After training with Aiden and getting practical experience investigating the Forsaken, Yulyu, Visera, Zirildeler, and others, Omerók actually learned a thing or two about detecting.
  • Incongruous Quaint Old Man Charm – He's not as persuasive as Andol, but Omerók has a certain charm that comes from him being a warm and friendly old grandpa type. This, combined with the following ability, constitute Omerók's "good vibes".
  • Unrelenting Resolve – Because of everything he has been through, Omerók continues to always see the best in everyone. He avoids killing and emphasizes giving others the opportunity for a second chance that he had. As bad as things may get, he doesn't give up on people.
